……EYE!!

Sorry for the lack of updating lately. I have been struggling with an eye infection that just won’t quit!! It all started over Labor Day weekend when I got some dirt in my right eye that irritated my eye and started the infection. Then the problem was compounded when I tried to wear contacts too soon (making the infection come back with a vengeance) and Josiah poking me in the same bad eye and scratching the cornea. Good grief!! The worst part of it all was how light sensitive my eye has been through this whole ordeal–I have hardly been able to drive and looking at the computer and TV was uncomfortable too. So, I have been using antibiotic drops and not wearing my contacts for over 3 weeks now and things are finally starting to get better! I go back to the eye doctor tomorrow (my 4th trip since this all started) and am hoping to get the all clear to start wearing my contacts again. So, look for more updates now that I can finally see!!

Over Labor Day weekend we headed down to Winfield to spend some time with Papa Ronnie, G’ma Jeryl and Aunt Joni. We met them Friday night in New London to watch the Winfield high school football team play. Saturday we left the kids home with G’ma Jeryl, Aunt Joni and Great G’ma Bertie while Papa Ronnie, Jason & I headed to Iowa City for the first Hawkeye football game of the season. It was a beautiful day for a football game and a pretty easy win for the Hawks, so all in all, a great day!

On Sunday we went to Mount Pleasant to go to the Old Threshers Reunion. The kids had a great time riding on the trolley, watching the trains and engines and riding on a pony!
