Weekend Visitors

winfield visitors

Yesterday Papa Ronnie, G’ma Jeryl, Aunt Joni & Great G’ma Bertie came to spend the day with us…we had SO much fun. We hung out, watched the Iowa and Drake basketball games and even spent some time playing the Wii! I think Joni is addicted to the cow-racing game! We had a lot of fun having them here and Anya was very sad to see them go. She played so hard with them that she almost fell asleep at the supper table and was in bed shortly after!

Today we went to church and after lunch Anya & I both had a nap. Felt good to get a little afternoon snooze in! Tonight we had out church small group at our house, but since 2 of the 4 couples were out of town, it was a VERY small group.

Otherwise, all is well here. Anya tolerated getting her tubes wonderfully and, other than disliking the ear drops, she handled it all in stride. Things are going fine with Baby McArtor…getting bigger every day and really liking to kick my ribs. My pregnancy book says at week 32 the baby weighs around 4.5 lbs….wow! No wonder I can’t get my coat zipped up anymore!

Here are a few pictures of our weekend guests!

  • More Snow!

Hope everyone is digging their way out of our latest round of snow….seems to be the reoccurring theme for winter 07-08! It is hard to think ahead to spring when we are buried under atleast a foot of snow!

We had a fun weekend. Papa Jim & G’ma Barb came to town Thursday night to stay through the weekend with us. They had a fun time entertaining Anya (or Anya entertaining them) and it was nice to have them here. Friday night, since we had willing and able babysitters, we went out to eat with Chad & Jodi. We went to Chicago Speakeasy which is easily our favorite place to eat here in the Des Moines area. We had a great meal and a great time…..I think I laughed so hard a few times during the meal that my stomach muscles (or what is left of them at this point in the pregnancy) still hurt!

Saturday we also got to hang out with Jason’s cousins, Kaitlyn & Allie, who came over to our house while their parents and brother were at the cattle show at the fairgrounds. Again, more entertainment for Anya…..she loves having other kids to play with. Sunday we were housebound due to the snowstorm, so we took it easy and spent most of the day in our jammies!

Yesterday Anya had tubes put in her ears due to the frequent ear infections she has been having the last 6 months. She handled the whole thing like a real trooper and was up and running around like her normal crazy self less than 1 hour after coming out of the anesthesia. We go back for a check-up in 3 weeks to make sure the fluid is draining out—so we are hoping this keeps those nasty ear infections at bay now!

    Happy Valentines Day 2008!

    Here’s a kiss from a very sweet valentine…..

  • Week with Papa!

This week we were lucky enough to have Papa Jim come stay with us and help us get a few projects done around here. The biggest accomplishment was getting the future nursery cleaned out and painted…no small feat I might add! But, while Jason & I were both at work on Wednesday, Papa Jim whipped that room into shape! Thanks Dad for all your hard work…it looks great and we appreciate all your help. I will post pictures of the nursery when we have the whole room finished. Anya loved having Papa Jim here and I think he had a pretty good time hanging out with her too. Here are a few pictures of the latest around here.
