We may not have it all together, but together we have it all.

Happy Memorial Day! Hope everyone has enjoyed the long weekend and had an opportunity to do something fun.
We had a very fun weekend. Friday afternoon we headed up North to my parent’s and spent the night there. Then Saturday morning we headed over to Spirit Lake with my parents to spend the weekend camping at Cutty’s Resort along with Jason, Jill, Zachary & Noah. We had a great time swimming, mini golfing, playing shuffleboard and just hanging out. Grandpa and Grandma Oleson came over for a few hours on Sunday too, so that was fun. The weather was beautiful, so we were able to spend alot of time outside enjoying it. Here are a few pictures of our weekend fun.
This weekend was Anya’s first time in a swimming pool and it went pretty good. She wasn’t too sure about it the first time we were in the pool, but she slowly started to relax, and, by the end of the weekend, we were able to get a few smiles out of her while in the pool. She also learned to clap this weekend. Friday night she just started clapping and has been doing it non-stop ever since. Tonight when we got home, she would crawl alittle bit, sit up and clap, crawl alittle bit further, clap some more and on and on. She is pretty proud of her newest ability and I have to admit, it is darn cute when she does it
!
Otherwise, we are pretty exhausted from the weekend but glad we had so much fun.

Anya’s shirt pretty much says it all. Come this July, we will officially be “east siders” when we make the move to Pleasant Hill. About a month ago, Jason & I were very excited to find a
house that we really liked with a huge backyard in a nice neighborhood, so we got busy, sold our house and bought the new one. Although we are not looking forward to the actual moving process, we are very anxious to get into the new place and start getting settled. Here are a few pictures of the new place…but we expect you all to come visit once we are moved in and see it in person for yourself.
Now, to explain the shirt Anya has on in the picture. Good friends of ours, Chad & Jodi, both grew up on the east side of Des Moines. So, because of this, Jason & I have always had alot of fun giving them grief about being “east siders”. So, it was much to Chad & Jodi’s amusement to hear that we were moving to Pleasant Hill, which is east of the east side. So, to celebrate the fact that we are joining their ranks of being east siders, they put this shirt on Anya when they were over at our house last Sunday night when Jason & I were both busy in the kitchen. So, when Jason & I walked in from the kitchen, we see Anya proudly wearing her new shirt. It was a funny moment that we just had to share and kudos to Chad and Jodi for being so clever (just remember, we don’t get mad, we get even
!
Otherwise, life has been pretty normal around here. Anya has continued to master the art of crawling and can now do so faster than I can chase her. She is also proficient at “cruising” on the furniture meaning she can pull up and walk the length of the couch and back again over and over. It will only be a matter of time before she is tottering around on her own.
Well, hope everyone has a good Memorial Day weekend and travel safe if you are venturing out.

Sunday was my first official Mother’s Day and it was a great day. We were down at Jason’s family for the weekend and had a great time. Saturday we just hung out around the house and Sunday we met Jason’s grandparent’s and aunt and uncle for a Mother’s Day lunch at Pizza Ranch. It was a fun weekend and ,as always, it was sad to head back home. Here are a few pictures of our time in Winfield and some of what Anya has been up too lately.
I was pleasantly surprised that Jason remembered to get me a Mother’s Day card on Sunday. He says it was all from Anya, but I bet she had to borrow some money to get the card
I love being a mommy everyday, but it was especially fun getting to celebrate it all day long!
Tonight I had JUGs group over at Tammy’s house–we didn’t do anything too exciting…just sat around and “chewed the fat” about what has been going on with everyone. It is nice that we get the opportunity to get together everynow and then and do some “girl bonding”. When I came home, Jason had Anya fast asleep already and had even given her a bath….he is such a good daddy! Anya and I are lucky girls..

I know this service has been around for a while, but it has taken me some time to finally snap an add my number to their list. After being scammed by Long Distance Consolidated Billing, I spoke with a nice representative who suggested I register my number with The National Do Not Call Registry. I just called, 888-382-1222, and it only took about 30 seconds in an automated system to remove my number. Should have done this a long time ago.
