More teeth!
Today I had the day off, so did alot of odd jobs around the house. It was a beautiful day outside, so Anya and I ran a few errands and then we grilled for supper. That was a nice treat! This warmer weather has really given me spring fever….I am just craving warm, sunny days!
Anya has made some huge strides in the crawling department. She isn’t quite doing a full-fledged tummy-off-the-ground crawl yet, but she is sure getting close. Currently she is doing what we call “the army crawl” where her chest and tummy are still on the ground. Also, she gets up on all fours and will make a few strides forward and then down she goes. She thinks it is pretty cool when she can make her way from one part of the room to the other all on her own! Anyways, will keep you updated on the whole crawling situation as it develops!!!!
She has also sprouted a few new teeth recently. She now has the middle 2 teeth on both top and bottom and is working on another one on the top. We are so lucky that she has been a good teether (so far anyways…) as she has never fussed once when she is cutting teeth. She is such a good baby!!! Check out a picture of her and her new teeth here with a few other pictures I posted.
Well, guess that is all for tonight.
Happy Spring!
Well, seems like no one has informed Mother Nature that it is now officially spring! We got about 5 inches or so of snow between last night and today. Wasn’t too pretty going to work this morning, but things had improved significantly when I left work around 4pm. I am not going to complain too much about the snow as it ended up being pretty managable, but I am definitely all for having alittle warmer weather come and stay around now.
Tonight us girls had our monthly JUGs (Just Us Girls) night out. I can’t remember if I have ever posted about JUGs night before…but basically it is just an excuse for a bunch of us girls to get together once a month to have some fun. We started the night with dinner at Cafe Su in Valley Junction and then went on to bowl a few games at Val Lanes. We had a great time–despite our lacking bowling scores!
Otherwise, things have been pretty run of the mill around here. We have had quite a few visitors in the last week. Dad was here Tuesday and Wednesday watching Anya and then this last weekend Steph & Rob came from Chicago to spend the weekend with us and meet Anya. We had a great time just hanging out and it was so nice to see them.
Well, guess that is all I know for now. Here are some pictures of our visitors.
8 months old!
Well, today marks Anya’s 8-month birthday! Holy cow! Just thinking of the new things she has learned in the last month..it is amazing! And, I know we are only just getting started!
Was a pretty happy weekend around here with the Hawks big win of the Big 10 tournament. Jason got to watch plenty of college basketball and Anya seemed to enjoy it too. She was clad in black and gold most of the weekend….usually what happens when daddy is in charge of wardrobe!
Anya had a rough night last night…we knew she didn’t feel good as she couldn’t get comfortable sleeping and was awake about every 20 minutes or so. So, went to the Dr this morning and she has another ear infection. Thankfully, she started to perk up this evening and seems to be feeling alittle better. Hopefully she has a better night tonight…mom and dad need it as much as she does!
Well, on that note, think I am going to hit the hay. Here are a few pictures of Anya in honor of her 8 month birthday!
March Madness!
Happy Sunday night. Just settling in for the night and thought I would post a few pictures from the weekend–check them out here. Mom & Dad came down yesterday afternoon, stayed last night and left early this afternoon. It was great seeing them and I know Anya had fun as she was the center of attention of 4 people for a few days instead of just Jason & I! We didn’t do anything too exciting while they were here…watched alot of basketball last night and then got up this morning and went and had a breakfast buffet and did alittle shopping. Anya got to sample alot of new foods this morning, but I am pretty sure her favorite was the ice cream Papa Jim was feeding her. Some people……
Mom & Dad brought me down the newly refinished piano bench of the piano I played for well over 10 years while growing up. Alittle history behind it….the piano was antique GREEN the whole time we had it…not the most attractive looking thing, but it did the trick! Well, Mom & Dad wanted to get rid of the piano as it was getting old and taking up ALOT of room in their house. So, Dad decided to keep the bench as a momento for me since it is mission style and knew it would fit perfectly in our house as our bedroom and livingroom furniture are all mission pieces. So, he set out to refinish it so that it would match the wood of all our other furniture. So, after alot of work (and lots of sanding from what I hear) Dad completed the refinish and it looks great. I posted a picture of it with the other pictures from today, so take a look at it. Thanks Dad…..
Otherwise, all is well here. Was kind of a damp and dreary weekend, but no snow, so won’t complain too loudly. Jason ( & Mom) were in hog heaven with all the basketball going on…but I suppose I better get use to it with all the tournaments coming up. We rented the movie “Crash” to watch tonight after Anya hits the hay as we aren’t too in to watching the Acadamy Awards. We have heard good things about the movie, so will let you know what we think of it.
Anya is still growing like a weed and doing great. Seems to be getting closer and closer to crawling. She is starting to creep backwards on her hands and knees which Grandma Barb says is the first stage of crawling. We have been calling her “The Whirling Duervish” as she can just roll roll roll and make her way pretty much across the room. I guess this is to prepare us for when she officially becomes mobile….I hear we are really in trouble then!
Well, guess that is all for now. Have a good week!
