Friday!
Looks more like spring outside than winter…but hear that we are suppose to get some snow over the weekend. What a crazy winter it has been.
Don’t have anything too exciting planned for today. Jason made lasagna for supper tonight and that sounds delicious. Anya is busy playing in her exersaucer and I have some laundry going…just the typical day off around here.
I finally posted some pictures from last weekend when we were up at Jason and Jill’s for Noah’s birthday. Click here to check them out.
6 month check-up!
Last Wednesday, we had Anya’s 6 month check-up and it went fine. She weighed 17.7 lbs and was 27 inches long. The Dr thought it was great that she is rolling over both ways and can sit up on her own for short periods of time. She is really getting active now, suppose one of these days we are going to really have to “babyproof” the house. Yikes…. She can also now start to eat “fingerfoods” (cheerios, veggie puffs etc) but she hasn’t quite mastered picking up food that small and getting them into her mouth. But, trust me, when it comes to food, I think she will master it quickly. She has also moved on to a “big-girl” bathtub where she sits up in a ring..she thinks that it is pretty cool as she would much rather be sitting up than lying down and getting a bath is no exception.
This last weekend we were in Forest City for Noah’s 3rd bithday. His birthday was actually on th 17th, but we had the big family celebration yesterday. He was pretty excited and got alot of cool presents, so he had a fun day. Was nice for us to see my parents and grandparents and Dagmar….glad they could make the trip over to help Noah celebrate. We also got to see Zachary wrestle in a scrimage Friday night..he did really well and it was fun to see him wrestle again.
Well, guess that is all for now.
She’s 6 months old!
Yesterday was Anya’s 6 month birthday…..I can’t believe our little girl is half a year old already! To celebrate her half birthday, we had her 6 month pictures taken (click here to see a few) and went out to eat for supper. Okay, so eating out was more of a celebration for Jason and I…but hey, we will use any excuse to treat ourselves!
I am happy to report that we are all feeling much better around here. I am finally fully functioning and Anya’s ear infection hasn’t slowed here down one bit. She has really taken a liking to her jumperoo toy and spends most of her days happily bouncing away in it. She has reached another milestone in that she can now get her toes IN her mouth…she has been able to get them up near her face for several weeks, but couldn’t quite get them all the way. So, when she isn’t bouncing away, she is nibbling on her toes. Quite the entertainment for her daddy and I to watch. Click here to see a few of her latest adventures!
Well, that is all for now. Hope everyone has a good weekend!
Down but not out!
Sorry it has been so long since my last post. It has been a long couple of weeks around here since Christmas. It seems we have been battling one illness after another here in our house and we have had just about enough of it. I was fighting off some mysterious illness for about a week after Christmas and finally it caught up with me and turned out to be bronchitis. With a few days of rest and some antibiotics and a very good cough medicine I am finally making the turn. I can still have a cough attack every now and then, but as a whole, I feel like a new person!
Then today we found out that poor little Anya has a double ear infection…which is probably why she slept for about a total of 2 hours last night. We happened to be down at Ron & Jeryl’s last night to celebrate a late Christmas with Jeryl’s extended family and Anya woke up hopping mad at 1:30am and it was all down hill from there. So, as soon as morning came, we packed up the car, headed back to Des Moines and took her to an urgent care clinic. It was so sad for Jason and I when we knew she didn’t feel good but couldn’t do much to make her feel better. But, we got a couple doses of antibiotics and some tylenol in her now and she is perking up alittle bit. We are keeping our fingers crossed that she has a better night tonight! So, as you can see, we have been alittle down around here, but not out. Soon, we will all be healthy again…looking forward to that day!
I just have to tell everyone how good of a daddy and husband Jason has been through all of this. He has been a trooper taking care of Anya when I was sick and still being my personal nurse. Anya and I are lucky girls to have him around!
Well, guess that is all for now. Hope everyone had a good weekend and will post more later.
